The HR Department

The HR Department is of crucial significance to the WHU, being the gateway to new talent and trainer of existing staff. The Department manages the 1,139 Professors, 1,258 Associate professors and 3,639 full time faculty members and 4,362 staff members. It is also responsible for the recruitment of new personnel. Among our attributions, apart from recruitment and training, are: personnel assessment for the proprietary period, mobile deployment of staff of all categories, the appointment and management of policy implementation and staff, the approval of the appointment and removal of the duties of the deputy director of the internal bodies of two units, the university annual assessment work, faculty rewards, compensations and cuts, all types of notarization, work permits and insurance issues. The HR of WHU is also responsible for the training of non-teaching staff, the technical level assessment and appointment of workers and the training of departmental managers. The university academic degrees inventory is also part of our workload. Research funding and related issues are managed by the HR of WHU. The Talent Office Functions

WHU's priority in hiring a diverse and highly skilled work force translated in the creation of a Talent Office within the HR Department. Its functions are:
  • teachers structure planning and the specific implementation measures
  • posting positions for the teachers and other professional and technical staff
  • existing teachers training,
  • academic strategy,
  • selecting academic leaders and new talent,
  • training and assessment of new and current staff
  • assessment and selection
  • awards and other benefits, including measures to encourage foreign exchange with reputed academic institutions abroad
  • qualification of teachers
  • Fanpin teachers and part-time teachers, visiting professors,
  • honorary approval of the appointment of teachers

  • Appointment and management of talent introduction:
  • the Distinguished Professor of the Cheung Kong Scholars Program;
  • the Luojia Distinguished Professor appointment and management;
  • appointment of the Chair Professor of approval and management
  • WHU HR office co-ordinates your overall relocation and settlement support. The Relocation Co-ordinator will proactively work with you to identify settlement support requirements. Please note that the amount and extent of the relocation support offered to you depend on the work scheme/program you arrived on at WHU.
