The Distinguished Luojiashan Professor and Luojiashan Young Scholars programs for the year 2013 have been updated, according to the "Wuhan University" 351 Talents Scheme "Implementation Measures" (Wu Zi [2010] adults No. 46. Please read the changes below:
A. The eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the conditions specified in Wuhan University’s “351 Talents Program". The age requirements for candidates for the scholarships offered in the Luojiashan program are:
1. Candidates for the Distinguished Professor program: no more than 42 years of age (born after January 1st 1970 born. 2. Humanities and Social Sciences candidates: not over 47 years of age (born after January 3rd 1965. 3. Luojiashan Young Scholars candidates: not more than 35 years of age (born after January 1st 1977 born.
B. List of Recommended People
The persons meeting the age requirements can be recommended by the schools. Schools, institutes and departments numbering less than 10 academic staff members can recommend 0-2 people, departments numbering more than 10 academic staff members or more, may recommend 0-3 people, departments numbering more than 20 academic employees can recommend 0-4 people, departments numbering over 30 academic staff can recommend 0-5 people and finally, departments having more than 50 academic staff members can recommend 0-6 people.
The Humanities and Social Sciences research institutions recommend candidates through the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, in accordance with the limits recommended.
C. The Application Forms and Documents:
( A ) individual submissions:
- 1. Application Form
- 2. Accessories:
a. Copies of the research documentation for last five years (see the instructions for filling in the application form ) ; b. award certificates and other relevant copies of certificates ; c. SCI, EI, SSCI, CSSCI including papers report (bearing the seal of the national authority) ;- 3. proof of holding an important position in a domestic academic institution;
- 4. proof of attending international conferences or being involved in international academic exchange (invitation letters, etc.)
B. Submissions Forms for Schools:
- 1. Approval Form ;
- 2 . Recommendation letter (candidates should request one) accompanied by the list of candidates. These should be signed and stamped by the person in charge;
- 3 . Comprehensive list of recommended candidates (A3 paper form), bearing the official seal.
Deadlines: Personal statement - should be submitted before the 20th of September.
Between September 20th to October 30th , the College/Faculty makes its assessment. The appointed councils determine the recommended list of candidates.
November 1st to November 20th - the School’s Assessment. School discipline team of experts assess in a panel to the long list of candidates.
November 20th to November 30th, the school Personnel Work Leading Group under the expert advice nd peer review determine the final candidates.
Work Requirements:
The Faculty/College is recommended to assess the Luojiashan candidates according to merit-based and performance factors, in order to ensure high quality recommendations. The necessary forms filled and stamped, together with the supporting documents must be sent to the Department of Human Resources, Office of Personnel, together with the electronic version.
By November the 1st, colleges must have submitted all recommended candidates paper and electronic versions documents. Documents exceeding this deadline will not be accepted. Find a comprehensive list of documents in the Chinese version of the HR website.
All forms must be completed. Any omissions might result in failing the candidate/s. Accessory documents must be prepared where needed, to back the application. Incomplete documents will not be admitted for processing.
